We are excited to announce that Ennoverse is now an official CloudFlare Certified Hosting Partner! This will provide our clients with an amazing set of security and optimization tools! These tools will allow you to increase your site’s load times and also protect it from attacks. Currently CloudFlare has stopped 2.1 billion (and counting) threats against user’s websites!

Want CloudFlare now? It’s simple, just login to your cPanel web hosting control panel and click the “CloudFlare” icon under the “Software/Services” section. Just follow the instructions and you will be running a faster, security hardened, and efficient site!

If you want even more features including the ability to view up-to-date stats every 15 minutes, advanced security features, and SSL support consider upgrading your account to a CloudFlare Pro account!

Want more information?
CloudFlare, Inc. (www.cloudflare.com) makes your site twice as fast, protects it from attacks, ensures it is always online, and makes it simple to add web apps with a single click. CloudFlare supercharges websites regardless of size or platform with no need to add hardware, install software, or change a line of code. The CloudFlare community gets stronger as it grows; every new site makes the network smarter and faster. Thanks to our awesome sauce technology, more than 300 million people experience a faster, safer, better Internet.

Is CloudFlare free?
Yes! CloudFlare offers free accounts which provide all the base CloudFlare features and abilities. CloudFlare also offers for pay plans that provide even more security options, SSL support and statistics every 15 minutes. CloudFlare Pro is only $20 a month for the first site and $5 a month for any site after that.

How does CloudFlare’s technology work?
CloudFlare works as a reverse proxy. What this means is that once your website is part of the CloudFlare community, your web traffic is routed through CloudFlare’s global network.

CloudFlare’s network stores copy of your static files closer to your visitors, which means they are delivered more quickly than before. We cache resources such as CSS, JavaScript and images. You do not have to make any changes on your end, CloudFlare’s technology automatically decides which resources to cache based on file extension names. We do not cache dynamic content. CloudFlare also does compression for every request.

CloudFlare’s network also blocks threats and limits abusive bots before they hit your server, which means less wasted bandwidth and server resources for you.

What types of websites can use CloudFlare?
Almost all websites can use CloudFlare. CloudFlare works for both static and dynamic websites. CloudFlare is not suitable for websites that stream video or audio directly from their origin server. If you use YouTube or Vimeo for the videos embedded on your website, then that is compatible with CloudFlare.

Brief power outage causes disruption

At 18.56 BST the data centre housing services on sh01.ennoverse.net experienced a power outage. Power was restored by 19:03 BST. This data centre has several backup systems in place. We are currently in the process of finding out the exact cause of this outage.

There was an additional problem with our cPanel server in this data centre which delayed boot up time leaving some websites offline until 19:25 BST. I apologise for any disruption caused and the delay in getting customer web sites back online as quickly as possible.

TF2 Free to play!

Valve’s Team Fortress 2 has been officially made free to play (forever) from today. Those of us that bought the game already will get premium membership features such as more backpack slots and better crafting and trading options. This is great news as in my opinion even without the additional premium features free playing gamers will still have great fun playing this.

Coincidently we released our range of game servers recently including TF2 servers from only 38p a slot. I expect there will be even more players in TF2 now so what better time to go grab yourself or your clan a server?

You can try out our demo TF2 server (UK based) here: aries.ennoverse.net:27100
